Just Like Mark

“Damn it! What a wacky life this is. You claim to be working hard, to be putting things in place, but everything seems so awry. I try to turn things around, but I seem to be adding more troubles to my woes. I’ve lost my job- The only thing that sustained the family. I couldn’t have my masters to get a better job and a tangible salary. And now the little I have, I have lost”. Chase kept blurting these words out as he dragged his suit case to leave through the widely opened door. He was further up with life under his father’s roof. He had to get out of that hell into a better place.”Hold on Chase. You can’t leave just like that. It’s no one’s fault things are really difficult at the moment. Dad is really trying. How can he possibly work with his stroke. We even have to be grateful that his pension money is there to support us. He has to take care of my University education, as well as Nathan’s High school expenses. It’s not very easy that he is the only one that we have now. Remember, things would have been better-off if mom was alive, because they used to be. But we cannot lose focus. We’ve got to move on. Things will turn really ok very soon. Can you please withdraw this whole idea of leaving?” Mark said with his hands pressed firm on Chase’s suitcase. But he didn’t give in. He has already made up his mind to leave. “Nathan, aren’t you going to say anything? Mark screamed in tears. “Well, not anything you would want me to. It’s really hell under this roof, so it’s better he moves to find peace somewhere else. Dad is making things more than difficult for us all. And I wonder why you have not even realized any of that. Nathan said with his one hand patting Chase’s shoulder”. “What!” Mark exclaimed in more tears. Chase, Mark, Nathan and their father are characters whose personalities reflect in our daily lives. In life, we become Chase when we love and enjoy good life. And during the difficult times, we doubt and even disbelieve that there is a God who has done it for us, is doing it for us and will continue to do it for us over and over again. Like Nathan, we get excited and grateful to God during our happy and trouble-free moments, and immediately we face a test or trial, we forget God’s existence. Being Mark, we believe that God is with us in both bad and good times, because He never fails. We understand that the little trials, tests, and difficult situations we go through are only to strengthen us in faith, hope and love. They will never perish us but make us better and better. God is presented as their father. God loves and cares for us unconditionally and eternally. He never wishes anything bad for us.He only allows that we go through certain situations for our own benefits. To make and strong and bold to face all challenges that the earthly life brings. We should always bear in mind that life on earth is a test, a trial and a temporary assignment.Sometimes, when things get crooked and unplanned, we have to understand that things always happen according to God’s will and purpose for us and not ours. He is the determinant our life’s purpose and the reason life even makes sense. We always get to a good and happy end when we listen to God and allow His will and purpose to be manifested in our lives. When we follow are wills however, we get to a deadly end. So, it is worth it if we be just like Mark.
