WHY BLACKS CAN'T BE RACIST!

What comes into mind when we hear of words like prejudice, discrimination, hostility, hatred, bigotry, nigger, Negro, apartheid, putrid, segregation, spookism, stereotype, arrogance, superiority, and inferiority. RACISM! This is the one word that took people years to understand. I am no exception at all. Racism is the belief that a particular race is superior or inferior to another, that a person’s social and moral traits are predetermined by his or her inborn biological characteristics. It could also mean the believe that  another person is less human because of skin color, language, custom, place of birth or any other factor that supposedly reveals the basic nature of the person. The Oxford dictionary defines Racism as the “ belief that all members of each race posses characteristics, abilities or qualities specific to that race especially so as to distinguish it as inferior or superior to another race or races” and the expression of such prejudice. Merriam- Webster’s dictionary defines it as the "belief that race is the primary determinant of of human traits and capacities and those racial differences produce as inherent superiority or inferiority of a particular racial group, and alternatively that it is also the prejudice based on such belief". The Macquarie dictionary defines Racism as the “belief that human races have distinctive characteristics which determine their respective cultures, usually involving the idea that one’s own race is superior   and has the right to dominate others". Throughout all the stated above definitions, certain terms stand common to all the definitions….Race, prejudice, discrimination and Superiority/inferiority. Prejudice, discrimination and Superiority/Inferiority make racism. Thus, Racism is a three-in-one word. Terms such as bigotry, hatred, spookism automatically comes along where there is Racism. When people prejudge or form an opinion (either positive or negative) about others before becoming aware of the relevant facts of those people that is Prejudice, not Racism. When people make a distinction in favor of/against a person/ thing based on the group, category to which they belong, rather than on individual merit, that is Discrimination, not Racism. And when people believe that they are better than other person, that is Superiority and not Racism. Black people who hate white people because they do not know them are bigots not Racist, because bigotry is the state of mind where a person obstinately, irrationally, unfairly, intolerably dislikes other people, ideas based on race, religion, gender, national origin, personal beliefs, socio- economic status and  sexual orientation . Blacks as well as whites do prejudge. Blacks prejudge other whites and even among themselves. Blacks also discriminate among whites and even among themselves. But what blacks cannot do is to be Superior among whites, at least not in this epoch. Maybe they can be superior over their own race (other blacks) but not over Whites. On the contrary however, Whites do prejudge blacks, discriminate among Blacks, and finally have themselves Lord over Blacks. There comes in Racism as an Institution. One may argue that” the entire world can be claimed to be Racist, because in no society anywhere are all equal. That ethnic group that fared the best will always regard the others as inferior” Well, that is Ethnocentrism not Racism. Racism is about races of all kinds and not ethnic groups of a society. Racism has always at the core been based on the belief by “Racists” that they are superior in all aspects of their existence than all other men of all colors around them, leading them to have the need to conquer, colonize dominate and enslave other populations of the world in the quest of proclaiming their Superiority. Unfortunately, Racism has been justified most a times by exploiting biblical and other religious scriptures which they belief affirms the belief of their superiority. In other for black people to be Racists against white people, they would have to feel the need to conquer, colonize, dominate and enslave white people in the quest of proclaiming their Superiority as black people.  They would further have to create standards of what constitute beauty on the basis of their skin color, appearance and force such standards on white people. They would have to create systems which enable people of color to benefit economically, socially and on any other basis on extremely large scale to the exclusion of white people and subject them to slavery to the next  thousand years. For as long as black people can in no way and will not do all of the above actions, Black people cannot be Racists. I t is clear that Black people cannot be Racists, and therefore Reverse Racism is only a myth. Talks about Racism are meant to drive ignorant people to recognize the injustices of a Country’s past and drive such individuals to act against racial injustices. Trying to shift the blame and asserting that it is Black people who are now Racists because of the policies aimed at uplifting them from the shackles of perpetual poverty as a result of our past is very Mischievous to say in the least. To prove Blacks are not Racist, whites now have institutions( homeland) of their own , where they have Lord it over themselves , this , they have done, why? Because, they are RACIST!Racism is no good thing. It only leads to evil deeds. It is high time we stopped been Racist because whether White or Black. It is still Racism!
